Literary Journal | Submission Guide 2009
"What I used to get done in a day of working on submissions,
I can now accomplish in an hour"
After I got my MFA a few years ago, I opened The Writer's Market and
began the tedious and frustrating process of determining where to send
my work. Often, when I had thrashed through several pages, made a
decision, typed the editor's name and address to my cover letter, I'd
realize that they weren't accepting submissions at that time!
So, I called my brother, the computer whiz. He created a database for
me so clear and concise that - at a glance - I know exactly when, where
and how to send my work. It contains the exact information I need to
make a decision without all the `filler' The Writer's Market throws at
you.
PLUS, it has HOT LINKS to each publications' website so - with a click
- I can check for any additional, up-to-the-minute information.
Where I used to spend a day doing submissions, I could now accomplish
in an hour.
I shared it with my writer friends. With their feedback and
overwhelming praise, Literary Database was formed. We're now in our
fourth year.
Literary Database contains over 350 publications, and the ~200 journals
that are considered for The Best American Short Stories anthology are
highlighted. These journals are considered `the best' by short story
writers.
Literary Database stays current with the dynamic literary world. It
allows you to target and time your submissions. It saves you time and
money by enabling you to get your short stories, essays and poems to
the most receptive journal, at the right time, submitted the correct
way.
All the best to you in your literary endeavors,
